Start with the most distinctive clue
A memorable title fragment often works better than a long sentence. If you remember an actor or director instead, change the search mode before entering the name. The same person may be credited in several roles, so the chosen mode matters. Accents and ordinary punctuation should not prevent a recognizable name from matching.
Use aliases without creating duplicates
Recorded translated and alternate titles belong to the same production. Premalu, an English transliteration and a title in another script need not become separate saved films. Compare the year and original title when several results appear. A sequel or remake still has its own entry.
Loosen an empty search one filter at a time
Genre, production country, original language, year, rating and running time can combine into a very narrow selection. Remove one restriction before changing the title itself. A reversed date range is a date error, not evidence that the film is absent. The A–Z catalog is an alternative when you want to browse displayed titles directly.
